About me

Golfer to an endurance athlete.  I grew up playing golf and competing in high school and college.  Never did I imagine I would find myself competing in triathlons.  In 2015, I decided to bucket list a marathon.  A three mile warm-up jog on my first training day resulted in blisters on my feet and gasping for air as I lay on the ground.  How will I ever accomplish a marathon?  Patience, consistency, and practice.  Slow and steady.  The first marathon was not pretty.  It was full of anxiety and a laundry list of things that went wrong.  I was determined to be better.   Every step along the way was a learning process.  Small goals eventually turned into longer term goals.  Juggling work, family and training time was a focus.  How to successfully balance the three is what makes a successful working endurance athlete.

I am a father of three beautiful girls.  Spending time watching them grow up is very important to me and I know family is important to you.   That is why I want to make sure we focus on your well-being and maintaining a healthy work-life-training focus.

With a commitment to success and improvement, understanding the role of recovery combined with aerobic and anaerobic work has led me to consistently improve from finishing in the middle of the pack to the top 10% in my age group.  I teach for a career and have consistently coached friends and family to help them achieve goals in endurance sports and an overall healthy and fit lifestyle.  I welcome you to come on this journey with me to achieve your goals, while at the same time ensuring time well spent with family and a proper balance of endurance training and career.
